We are setting dangerous precedents for the control of our communities and what is to be done in future pandemics or other 'emergencies'. Great efforts have been taken to control or convince us we could control what many believe is simply Mother Nature. We live in the information age. If there’s a dangerous virus out there, our communities will figure out what the most effective solution is way before any government office will. If we need to stay home, close businesses, wear masks or hazmat suits, we’ll figure it out. We don’t need someone to mandate it. Mayors and governors are great at looking good on camera but many of them don’t have a clue when it comes to critical thinking or knowing the potential adverse effects of their decisions on their communities. Their seemingly innocuous and virtuous mandates will have unintended consequences on America for years to come. We speak to small business people every day and a common theme is that the American entrepreneurial spirit has been severely damaged. They’re the backbone of our country; responsible for ingenuity, innovation and what America is(was) all about. Unfortunately, many of them say they will never again risk their time and money opening a business where politicians rule instead of the people.
